Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple signed into law House Bill 1003 at Valley City State University during a ceremonial signing on Wednesday in the Student Center Skoal Room.

Dalrymple says the Rhoades Science Center project gathered support from several lawmakers during the legislative session due to the type of programs that will be housed in the building. l

He says there were a few testy moments in the session after the project was removed from the house appropriations list briefly. But he said due to the hard work of state senator Larry Robinson, representative Phil Mueller, members on the board of higher education and many others the project was approved

Dalrymple said the recent growth in enrollment on the VCSU campus over the last two years also played a roll in getting this project passed through the legislative session.

The bill appropriates $10.3 million for the renovation and addition to the Rhoades Science Center on the campus. It’s the first capital improvement project at VCSU since 1973.
