CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The Valley City Babe Ruth baseball team made it a quick day in the opening round of the District 6 tournament in Edgeley Sunday night.

Brett Stearns struck out 10 over just five innings, allowing three hits and three walks, in an 11-0 win over Steele in the opening round Sunday night, sending Valley City to the quarterfinals.

Masyn Olson was 3-3 with a double and two RBI to lead the offense.  Austin Berg and Ben Baasch each had two hits.

Valley City plays LaMoure at 2:30 Monday afternoon in the quarterfinals.
