CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–A doubleheader in Fargo kept Valley City out of the tennis win column on Tuesday.

The Hi-Liners made up a match with Wahpeton, then faced Fargo Shanley for their regularly-scheduled match, and dropped both contests 8-1.

Derek Reimers and Cody Schmit picked up the win against Wahpeton playing #2 doubles.  Reimers then went on to win against Shanley at #1 singles.

“Derek played the bbest tennis of his career today, and he put himself in the running for a seed at the regional tournament, along with becoming a viable threat in a 3-2 lineup,” said head coach Matt Nielson.  

The Hi-Liners host Fargo South on Thursday at 3:30 p.m., with both teams looking for their first win.  The winner will host a play-in match in the 3-2 format against the loser for the right to play at the EDC team regional.
