N.D.–Myron Blumhagen and fellow North Dakota Farmers Union officials were in Washington, D.C. earlier this week for their annual fly-in to urge members of congress to consider issues that are important to family farmers as they write the 2012 Farm Bill.
Blumhagen told News Dakota that risk management and permanent disaster programs are on the forefront of farmer’s minds.
Blumhagen added that once they got to Washington, D.C. the members from across the country were split into teams and given a list of congressional offices to visit with about their concerns.
Those North Dakota Farmers Union representatives attending returned home Wednesday evening.
