N.D. – Authorities have released the name of the inmate who died in the Stutsman County jail in Jamestown as 31-year-old Joshua Ellis of Thompson.

Stutsman County Deputy Jason Fauk says Ellis was arrested Monday on charges pending in Dickey county involving 3 burglaries in Oakes including a DUI.

Joshua Ellis was arrested in Oakes on Monday night on three counts of burglary, and DUI, and was found dead at the Stutsman County Jail early Tuesday morning

Faulk says Ellis arrived at the jail about 3am. Stutsman County jail staff members found Ellis unresponsive about two hours later and performed CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the Jamestown hospital.

Faulk says results from an autopsy on the cause of death will be released later.
