N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Another night, another sweep for the Jimmie basketball teams at the Civic Center last night. Presentation College came into the Civic Center and found themselves over matched for much of the evening.

The Jimmie women glided to an 85-42 win in the first game. Baskets weren’t coming easy on the offensive end for Jamestown early in the contest. The Saints hung around for a while before the Jimmies got hot toward the end of the opening half to put them away.

Megan Pold led the Jimmies with 19 points and eight rebounds. Kellie Schuneman and Kaeli Kraska also were in double-figures with 15 and 14, respectively.

Jimmies shot 34 of 80 from the field for 42%, but more alarming was their inability to hit the three. They converted just 16.7%  of their attempts from beyond the arc.

For the second time in  less than two weeks the Jimmie men found themselves matched up with Presentation College. But as Coach Matt Murken said, “we need to be able to beat the same team more than once to achieve our ultimate goals.” They did that last night behind from 23 points from Mark Hoge to down the Saints 86-40.

The game was never really in doubt as the Jimmies led from wire-to-wire and raced out a 42-17 at the break. Hoge had nearly as many points in the first half as Presentation. He had 16 at the break.

Travis Burley and Davon Thomas who were pretty quite throughout the opening session combined for 28 in the final 20:00.

Up next: the Jimmies will host Trinity Bible College tonight at the Civic Center. The women’s game will tip-off at 5:30pm.
