FORKS, N.D. (AP) – The lack of snow so far this year in
the Dakotas is saving cities a lot of money on snow removal. In
Grand Forks, only 1.5 inches of snow has fallen so far. Normally,
the city would have seen about 13 inches and spent about $30,000 on
fuel and overtime.
     
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A St. Michael woman has been sentenced to
three years of probation and six months of home confinement for
embezzling from the Spirit Lake Tribe. Fifty-three-year-old
Patricia Robertson will also have to pay nearly $5,500 in
restitution.
     
DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol has
released the name of a 28-year-old man who died after he was hit by
a vehicle while he was walking along a state highway in the Devils
Lake area. Investigators say Manuel Littlewind Junior was wearing
black clothing and walking in the dark, when he was struck and
killed by a 15-year-old driver.
    
MINOT, N.D. (AP) – A Minot motel is giving away 100 free TV sets
to Souris River flood victims this week. The TVs are being given
away at specified times on a first-come, first-served basis.
