LAKE, ND (NewsDakota.com)- The Blue Jays played their last game before take nine days for the Christmas holiday last night in Devils Lake.

The Blue Jay girls are still looking for win No. 1 following a 79-70 loss to the Firebirds. Sarah Schafer had 32 in the game to pace Devils Lake. Christa Lysne also had a big night with 20, most coming down the stretch.

Jamestown trailed by 21 midway through the second-half and were able to pull back within nine. That was as close they got, the Firebirds were able to hold them at arms length the rest of the way.

The girls have now fallen to 0-5 on the season.

In the second game, the Jays took an early lead and were never threatened in a 79-42 domination of Devils Lake. The Firebirds scored the games first point, but after that Jamestown rattled off 15 in a row.

They pushed their lead to a game-high 41 on two different occasions in the second-half while coasting to a 37 point win.

Danny Fisher and Nate Willer lead the Blue Jays with 16 a piece. Jordan Thoreson finished with 15. Jamestown was able to take whatever they wanted inside with a massive height advantage on the front line.

They were able to improve their record to 3-2 with the win.

The Blue Jays will be off until December 29th when they will welcome the Valley City Hi-Liners to town. You can hear that game on Q101 KQDJ-FM with Kyle Hewitt. Pregame will start at 5:30pm.
