CITY – The Valley City State basketball teams swept the Dakota Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards released Monday.

Aaron Duske, a sophomore guard from Buffalo, Minn., was named the men’s player of the week after he recorded a double-double in the Vikings lone game of the week, a 84-73 road win over Northern New Mexico. In the contest, he scored 17 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and picked up a steal. Duske shot 4-for-7 from the field (57.1 percent) and 9-for-10 from the free throw line.

VCSU’s Brittany Lehner, a sophomore from Watertown, S.D., was named the women’s player of the week after recording 20 points, eight rebounds and two steals as the Vikings won their lone game of the week, 74-55 at Northern New Mexico. In the contest, she was 8-for-10 (80 percent) from the field and 3-for-3 from the free throw stripe.
