CITY (NEWSDAKOTA.COM) Barnes County Auditor Ed McGough returns back to work after battling an illness for several months and continues to recover slowly.

Officer personal filled in for several weeks as McGough was unable to get back to the office. He was able to do some of the work over the phone.

But, since October Steele County Auditor Linda Leadbetter has been filling in helping out Barnes County.

Leadbetter said it’s been an exhaustive 4 months but she says if she was in the same situation, she believes others would help her out.

McGough will start working half days until he gets stronger. McGough was hospitalized in May and treated for Kidney, Gallbladder and blood infection. McGough says it’s been a long road to recovery. He looks forward to getting back to work.
