N.D. (AP) – A former Minot insurance agent has been
sentenced to more than four years in federal prison for wire fraud.
Alan Henning also has been ordered to make more than $1.2 million
in restitution. Henning pleaded guilty in August.
     
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) – The Jamestown City Council has named
Sergeant Scott Edinger the new chief of police. The 18-year veteran
of the department was one of five finalists to succeed David
Donegan, who retired at the end of last year.
     
   
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A North Dakota health official says the
mild winter might be one reason why it’s been a quiet flu season so
far. Officials have documented only a dozen cases in the state this
winter. They’d seen more than 300 by this time last year.
     
 
WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) – Tony Moran has been named temporary
tribal chairman for the Trenton Indian Service Area. He’s the
cousin of Chairman Walter Moran, who died nearly two weeks ago.
Tony Moran will oversee the service area until a new chairman is
chosen through an election, which the council is organizing.
