(NewsDakota.com) The boys in Minnesota know a thing or two about wrestling.

Apple Valley, one of two teams from Minnesota, came out as the best team out of the 20 team field at the Nick Storhaug Invitational in Lisbon over the weekend, with a team total of 316.5 points. South Border finished second with 189 points, and Oakes was third with 156 points.

Apple Valley had champions in the 113, 120, 138, 145, 152, 160, and 170 weight classes. Valley City’s Brandon Larson won at 195 lbs, and Napoleon’s Andrew Beine won at 220 lbs.

Oakes placed 11 wrestlers lead by second place finishes for Erik Loepp and Cody Voegeli at 106 and 145 lbs respectfully. Valley City placed a total of five wrestlers.
