Blue Jay boys hockey team will travel to Fargo North on Tuesday night for a non-conference showdown with the Spartans.

This starts off a busy week for Jamestown, as the Jays will play at West Fargo on Thursday night, and host Hazen-Beulah in a mega WDA match-up on Saturday night.

North is enjoying a great year with a 10-4 record, good enough for third place in the East Region. The Jays are 4-9-1, tied for fifth place in the West Region with Hazen-Beulah. The Spartans are 2-0 against the WDA this year with wins over Bismarck Century and Bismarck High.

Jamestown is 0-2 versus the EDC this season with defeats to Grafton-Park River and Devils Lake. The Jays have scored 40 goals and allowed 51, North has lit the lamp 49 times, and allowed only 25 goals.

The Jays are led by Junior Forward Jake Stilwell with 19 points, including 13 goals. Senior Riley Schafer has 14 points, and a team high nine assists. Junior Tygh Yatskis has started a bulk of Jamestown’s games, and has a goals against average of 3.46, and save percentage of 90.2.

North is led by Sophomore Forward Jackson Graalum with 18 points, including 11 goals. Senior Nick Schmitt has been awesome between the pipes with a goals against average of 1.80, and a save percentage of 92.5%.

The Jays have had trouble staying out of the penalty box. Jamestown has accumulated 210 penalty minutes, which is the third most in the state. North has been much more disciplined with only 147 penalty minutes, which is sixth best in the state.
