FARGO (NewsDakota.com) The Jamestown High School boys hockey team completed their two game venture in the Fargo-Moorhead area with a 1-1 record as they fell 5-2 in a non-conference contest at West Fargo on Thursday night.

The Jays gave up a quick Packers goal to start; 11 seconds in by Sage Raghib, but after the first period of play, Jamestown had knotted the score at two goals a piece, thanks to tallies by Ben Sorenson and Jake Stillwell but that’s all the Jays were able to muster.

“Our third period we played about as well as we did in the first period” said Jamestown head coach Matt Stockert. “The second we just didn’t play our game, and they were able to place two quick ones on us midway though, but we bounced back, and I though our three lines played solid, it just wasn’t out night, and West Fargo’s a pretty good team. We need to focus now, and get hungry for two points up for grabs in the west on Saturday.”

Jamestown goaltender Tygh Yatskis faced 55 shots, and came up with 50 saves. Senior goalie Kyle Olson had 32 shots faced for West Fargo, and made 30 saves.

With the (win/loss), Jamestown is now (record), and will next suit up on Saturday afternoon, as they host Hazen in a key WDA matchup. Faceoff from Wilson Arena in Jamestown is set for 7:30 p.m.
