(NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown native Alexis Barnick’s American Idol journey reached another stage Wednesday night when viewers found out she advanced past the audition stage to the Hollywood Week portion of the national singing contest.

Barnick was not featured on Wednesday night’s episode, but was shown near the end hugging her family in a montage of contestants who advanced past the audition stage.

Hollywood Week has already happened, but Barnick and her family were required to sign a confidentiality agreement at the audition in Aspen, Colo., preventing them from talking about how she did in Hollywood. She was one of 31 contestants at the Aspen audition that advanced to Hollywood, the show said on Wednesday night’s episode.

The 20-year-old Barnick is a Jamestown native and a junior at Jamestown College. She won a ticket to the front of the line at the audition in Aspen after winning an American Idol singing contest while on vacation at Walt Disney Resort in Orlando, Fla., in 2010.
