(Jamestown College) – Jamestown College head football coach Shawn Frank has signed four players to Letters of Intent to enroll at Jamestown College next year and play football for the Jimmies.

The college announced Tuesday that Christian Henry of Mentone, Ala., Andrew Jochim of Wishek, Michael Knoblauch of Sauk Centre, Minn., and Cole Praus of Breckenridge, Minn., have all committed to Jamestown College.

Christian Henry – Mentone, Ala.
The six-foot-one, 190-pound Henry was a team captain, All-Region selection, Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, Alabama High School Athletic Association Prep Spotlight player, and a scout.com Alabama Top Performances selection, recording 569 receiving yards, 36 receptions, eight touchdowns and 37 tackles. Frank says he’ll be used in a variety of ways.

“Christian is very dynamic in what he brings to the table,” Frank says. “He is a tremendous athlete, and the sky is the limit with what he can do in our offense. We will certainly find as many ways to get him the ball as we can. We feel he will pose a match-up problem for defenses down the road. We certainly will be able to create packages for him as we move forward. Having a player as dynamic as Christian is a plus.

“Christian comes from a strong family that places a high emphasis on character and faith,” Frank continues. “When Christian and his family visited, the one thing that was evident from the start was his strong values. It was clear that he was a tremendous fit in our eyes.”

Henry is the son of Greg and Beverly Henry. He is an Honor Roll student, Student Council President, U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete, and Wendy’s Heisman School winner.

Andrew Jochim – Wishek, N.D.
The five-foot-eight, 180-pound Jochim was an All-Region selection on both offense and defense, recording 1,126 career rushing yards, 273 career receiving yards, 16 rushing touchdowns and 248 tackles in his career. Frank says he’ll be used in a variety of ways.

“Andrew is a multi-sport athlete who has had great success throughout his high school career,” Frank says. “He is enjoying a successful season as a wrestler, and it is that competitive nature that has allowed Andrew to succeed. It’s always a plus for a program to land local kids, and he comes from a successful program from which we hope to attract student-athletes every year.

“Along with his running skills, Andrew displayed an ability to catch and run with the ball,” Frank continues. “He is another great fit and addition to our recruiting class that is taking shape. His work ethic and attitude screams success on and off the field.”

Jochim is the son of Eric and Denise Piatz. He plans to major in criminal justice or addiction counseling at Jamestown College.

Michael Knoblauch – Sauk Centre, Minn.
The five-foot-ten, 175-pound Knoblauch recorded 129 tackles his senior season and was a team captain, an All-Conference and All-Area selection, and was named Most Valuable Linebacker/Defensive Back. Frank says he’ll play at safety for the Jimmies.

“Michael is a tremendous person, first and foremost,” Frank says. “We pride ourselves on recruiting good people with high character, and Michael definitely displays those characteristics. In addition to that, he has displayed tremendous ability on the football field. Michael had a very successful high school career at Sauk Centre High School. His ability to make plays on the defensive side attracted us to him after watching him on video. We plan on moving him to a safety position where we think we can advantage of the things that he does well. His post season honors as a linebacker, along with his play, will transition to safety very well. We are excited for Michael and his family to be a part of Jimmie Nation.”

Knoblauch is the son of Mark and Joyce Knoblauch. An honor roll student, he plans to major in physical education at Jamestown College.

Cole Praus – Breckenridge, Minn.

The five-foot-ten, 190-pound Praus was an All-Conference and All-Section selection for Breckenridge, recording 947 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns in his career. On defense, he recorded 101 career tackles and 13.5 career sacks. He has been named MVP Offense and MVP Defensive Line. Frank says he’ll play at running back for the Jimmies.

“Cole exemplifies what a Jamestown College student-athlete is about: strong character, from a quality family, that understands what we expect from our players on and off the field,” Frank says. “Cole plans to major in Pre-Physical Therapy, which reinforces his qualities as a student.

“Cole plays football the way which we desire,” Frank continues. “He is a physical kid who loves the game and plays it in such a manner. Cole is a downhill runner who finishes his runs and has great balance which adds to his overall offensive game. He will bring a physical presence to our run game, something we are striving for.”

Praus is the son of Jason Praus and Tara and Glenn Klostreich.
