(NewsDakota.com)- The Jimmies will be back at the Civic Center tonight for the first time since early January and will host the rival Valley City St. Vikings.

The women’s teams met just 10 days ago at the Bubble in the DAC Mid-season Tournament Championship Game and what a game it was. The Vikings gave the highly-ranked Jimmies everything they could handle. However, Bridget Schuneman scored with 12-ticks remaining in overtime to give JC a 61-60 victory.

The No. 11 Jimmies are coming off a 101-82 win over the Mayville St. Comets on Saturday. Schuneman had a team-high 23. Jamestown finally found their offense, but they allowed 27 points to the Comets leading scorer Hailey Longtin.

Valley City St. lost to the Dickinson St. Blue Hawks this past weekend. They dropped another overtime contest, their second in three games, 58-53.

The men’s game features two of the top-20 teams in the NAIA. Jamestown is the No. 7 team in this weeks poll, while the Vikings come in at No. 17.

It will be the first meeting of the season between the two squads. VCSU was playing without leading scorer Sekani Milligan (19 ppg) when they were upended in the opening game on the Mid-season Tournament by the Mayville St. Comets.

Jamestown is coming off a 66-51 win over Mayville St., Travis Burley was the offensive catalyst with 20 points and he also pulled down 10 boards.

Both games of the double-header at Dickinson last week went to overtime, but the Vikings were able to grab the men’s game, 71-68. Milligan came back from his concussion and scored a team-high 16.

The games will start tonight at 5:30 with the women’s game tipping first. The games can be heard on Classic Hits KQDJ-AM 1400 out of Jamestown and on Dakota Country Radio (KOVC 1490) out of Valley City.

It is also Family Fun Night at the Civic Center so their will be lots of fun stuff to do for people of all ages.
