(NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown native Alexis Barnick is one of a few hundred singers featured on American Idol’s web site ahead of the Hollywood Week portion of the national singing competition.
Barnick impressed the judges enough in nationwide auditions to earn a golden ticket to Hollywood, along with a few hundred other singers. The Hollywood Week portion of the show starts airing during this week’s episode on Wednesday night on FOX.

Barnick explains in a brief video on the web site that her favorite former American Idol singer is Carrie Underwood. She also talks about her North Dakota background and how she won an American Idol singing contest while on vacation in Florida.
