CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–Its another split date for the Hi-Liner boys and girls inside the Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) tonight.

The Hi-Liner girls host Grand Forks Red River tonight, while the Hi-Liner boys travel to Red River to face the Rough Riders.

The Rough Riders are the top-ranked Class “A” boys basketball team, currently 12-0 in EDC play and 14-0 overall.  They feature two of the EDC’s leading scorers, with Mack Arvidson leading the Rough Riders at 21.7 points per game, third in the league.  Mac Kroeplin is seventh in the league at 18 points, and is tops in the EDC in assists, dishing out 7.7 per game.

Red River’s girls are nearly as good, currently 11-1 in EDC play and 11-2 overall, their lone losses to Fargo Shanley and Minot.  The Rough Riders have a 20-point win over West Fargo, ranked second in Class “A” and currently in possession of first place in the EDC.

Ellie Ripplinger leads the Rough Riders in scoring, averaging 16.2 points per game.  Ashley Knecht adds 12.2 points, and Payton Salquist leads the EDC in three point percentage, knocking down 44.2% of her shots from beyond.

Both games tip off at 7:30 p.m.  Coverage of the boys game at Red River will be heard on KOVC-AM 1490, with pregame coverage beginning at 7:10 p.m.
