(NewsDakota.com)- The 2012 State Girls Hockey Tournament will begin on Thursday in Grand Forks. The Jamestown Blue Jays will make their third consecutive state tournament appearance.

This trip to the tournament will be very familiar for Coach Brad Schaack and his girls as they will be matched up with Fargo North for the third straight time.

North is seeded as the No. 2 team. “We need to stop their top line and keep everything to the outside of the Olympic-sized rink,” said Coach Schaack. “We must capitalize on any scoring chances we have.”

The Blue Jays set the school record for wins in a season with 11.  Jamestown has never won a game in the state tournament.

Amber Schaack finished 9th in the state in scoring with 44 points (32 goals and 12 assists). She was named All-West Region along with Mataya Olson (21 points).
