memorial service for Jamie Geisen, 40, Valley City, ND, will be 2 PM, Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel.

Jamie Allen Geisen was born on March 3, 1972 in Langdon, ND to Rod and Becky (Fischer) Geisen.  He spent most of his life in the Dayton, WA area, moving to Valley City, ND seven years ago.

He attended Dayton, WA High School, graduating in 1990.  During his high school years, he was a star football player, making the All State Team in his senior year.  He attended Walla Walla Community College before he was able to fulfill his childhood dream of being a farmer.

From the time he was a small child; all Jamie talked about was farming.  He would stay at his grandparents’, Orlin and Irene Schanz, in Langdon during the summer so he could help Grandpa Orlin farm.

He worked on farms all of his life from Dayton to Valley City.  He was currently working for Todd Wendel in Valley City.

Jamie loved to be with his friends and a good game of pinochle would always grab his attention.  He had one hidden talent; he loved to sing karaoke and was a very good singer.  He was truly loyal to his friends and would do anything for anyone.

He is survived by his mother, Becky Geisen of Valley City; brother, Bill (Melissa) Geisen of Tracy, CA, as well as Bill’s step-daughter, Lindsey; his grandmother, Mary Ann Geisen of Langdon; grandfather, Orlin Schanz of Langdon; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rod Geisen; grandfathers, Les Fischer and Bill Geisen; grandmother, Ilene Schanz; aunt, Diane Geisen; uncle, Dennis Geisen; and cousin, T.J. Fischer.

The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers.
