N.D. (AP) – A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held
this afternoon on another large so-called man camp in the western
North Dakota oil patch. The Dunn County Lodge is about eight miles
north of Dickinson and will be able to accommodate 600 oil and gas
workers.     
    
MANNING, N.D. (AP) – Dunn County officials are debating the
future of a sheriff’s deputy who’s been involved in three crashes
in about a year. The latest collision happened last week when
Deputy Leif Anderson fell asleep at the wheel of his patrol car and
went into the ditch, causing $4,000 in damage. Anderson told county
commissioners he has “the worst luck in the world.”
     
    
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A North Dakota woman says she received
permanent injuries when police removed handcuffs from her wrists
after she was arrested for drunken driving. Cheryl Schultz is suing
Valley City and two police officers and is trying to get a least
$50,000 in damages. She claims police couldn’t remove one of the
cuffs and eventually had to use an electric grinder that caused
second-degree burns.
     
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The Jamestown College women’s basketball
team is moving on in the NAIA Division II Tournament. The Jimmies
women downed Union of Kentucky 60-42 in yesterday’s opening round.
They play two-time defending champion Northwestern of Iowa in
tomorrow’s second round.
