CITY (NewsDakota.com) A trailer carrying 4 snowmobiles burned as it was being hauled by a pickup truck in the westbound lane of Interstate 94 Saturday about 1:30pm.

Valley City fire chief Gary Retterath says a propane tank and battery used to heat the trailer may have started the fire. No injuries were reported in the fire.

Retterath says the trailer was destroyed and 4 snowmobiles received extensive damage in the fire. Total property loss is estimated at $50,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
