(NewsDakota.com) – The National Weather Service says conditions are right today for explosive fire growth in Stutsman County and much of central and western North Dakota.

The weather service has issued a Red Flag Warning today from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., as low humidity, high temperatures, strong winds and dry fuels will create critical fire weather conditions.

Today’s forecast calls for sunny skies with a high near 64 degrees. South winds could increase to 21 to 24 miles per hour this afternoon, with gusts as high as 33 miles per hour.
