Olson, 90, Jamestown, ND died Saturday March 17, 2012 at the Ave Marie Village in Jamestown, ND.

Joyce Wangrud was born June 16, 1921 near Verona, ND, the daughter of Kolbjron K. Wangrud and Olga (Botner) Wangrud. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and also attended Litchville High School.

She and Alford Olson were married September 7, 1940 at Fort Ransom, ND. They made their home in Jamestown, later moving to Chicago and Minneapolis. They returned to Jamestown after WWII where she worked as a cook at the Anne Carlson School, White Drug and later at the Ave Marie (Central Dakota) Village. Following the death of her husband in 1980 she continued to work until retiring in 1994. She entered the Ave Marie Village in September of 2011.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, and also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Jamestown.

She is survived by her children, Randall (Nancy) Olson, North Platte, NE; Duane (Marion) Olson, Bismarck, ND; Renee (Dwight) Remmich, Bismarck, ND; 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 grandchildren, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.

The memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday March 22, 2012 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Rich Fitzer, officiating.

The interment will be made in the Highland Home Cemetery at Jamestown, ND.
