N.D. (AP) – A man who was shot by Bismarck police
after allegedly threatening officers with a knife on Friday night
has been formally charged. A judge has set no bond for Arthur
Feather, who’s charged with felony terrorizing. Authorities say
Feather’s criminal history includes assault and escape.
     
WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A former West Fargo police officer
accused of assaulting his girlfriend last year won’t face jail time
if he stays out of trouble. Allen Schmidt has pleaded guilty to
misdemeanor disorderly conduct and is getting a deferred one-year
sentence. He resigned from the force in January but hopes to return
to law enforcement someday.
     
WATFORD CITY, N.D. (AP) – One lane of the Long X Bridge south of
Watford City is open again after it was damaged over the weekend by
a truck hauling an excavator. Officials say the bridge is
structurally sound but will be reduced to one lane until repairs
are finished.
     
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – Dakotas-based Sanford Health is providing $2
million for athletic scholarships at Minnesota State University
Moorhead. Sanford has provided sports medicine services for Dragon
athletics for nearly two decades.
