(NewsDakota.com)- You may know him as the “Voice of the Carrington Cardinals” but now Kyle Hewitt has a different title, Healthy Community Service Award Winner.

Jan Bakke, the Healthy Community Facilitator, emailed Hewitt yesterday to inform him of his nominated and victory.

Hewitt was nominated by Pastor Bruce Vold. “Kyle does a great job through this work and commitment to broadcasting our high school sports programs,” wrote Vold on his nomation form. “He is a promoter of youth, teamwork, healthy activities and community spirit. Kyle speaks well of all our youth and is positive in his outlook and comments.  He’s a great voice for our community!”

Hewitt broadcasts Carrington High School sporting events on KDAK-1600 in Carrington for Ingstad Family Media.

“I’m getting an honor from the community,” the humbled Hewitt wrote in an email, “for a job that I consider an honor to broadcast the local sports for the kids in Carrington.”

Hewitt will pick up the award at the next Healthy Community meeting which is scheduled for April 12th at the Carrington Health Center’s Large Conference Room at 4:00 p.m.
