(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown College baseball and softball teams swept the Dakota Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards released on Monday. Max Boe was named DAC Baseball Player of the Week and Paul Roers was named Pitcher of the Week.

In softball, Katie Johnson was named the Player of the Week and Jessica Lees was named Pitcher of the Week.

The Jamestown College softball team carries a 16-13 record (3-1 DAC) into its Tuesday afternoon games in Mayville State. The Jimmies split with Mayville on Friday in Jamestown, winning 1-0 and losing 4-8. Tuesday’s doubleheader starts at 3 p.m. in Portland, N.D.

The Jamestown College baseball team is currently 20-11-1 (2-0 DAC) as they enter a Tuesday afternoon contest against Mayville State. The Comets and Jimmies face off in a 9-inning game at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Jamestown.

DAC Weekly Awards
Baseball – Player: Max Boe; Jamestown College; Senior; Center Outfield; Wylie, TX ~ Boe hit .429 (6 for 14) in helping the Jimmies to a 4-0 week. In four games, he had one home run; six RBI, four runs scored and was 1 for 2 on stolen base attempts.

Baseball – Pitcher: Paul Roers; Jamestown College; Junior; Pitcher; Moorhead, MN ~ Roers pitched a complete game shutout in his lone outing of the week as the Jimmies went 4-0. In the game, he gave up no runs on five hits with six strikeouts and no walks.

Softball – Player: Kate Johnson; Jamestown College; Junior; 1st Base; Victoria, BC ~ Johnson batted .636 (7 for 11) in helping the Jimmies to three wins in four games. For the week, she had one double, two home runs, five RBI, two runs scored and a pair of walks.

Softball – Pitcher: Jessica Lees; Jamestown College; Senior; Pitcher; Arcola, SK ~ Lees picked up two wins in two outings for the Jimmies. In the two games, she allowed two runs, one earned run on seven base hits with 12 strikeouts and four walks.
