CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–Jamestown College and Valley City State meet again in baseball this weekend, with two Saturday in Valley City and two Sunday in Jamestown.

The Jimmies are on a roll, taking a six-game winning streak into the weekend.  They have won 10 of their last 12 games after a four-game losing skid in mid-March.  They are 21-11 overall, 6-4 in Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) play.

The Vikings are trying to find some momentum before DAC tournament play, losing 16 of their last 20 since a five-game winning streak in early March.  They are 10-21 overall, 3-5 in DAC play.  

Preston Jensen (Jr., Valley City, ND) leads the Vikings, hitting .426 with five doubles and 11 RBI.  He is the second-best hitter among players on independent teams.  Third on that list is Jimmie Matt Achter (Fargo, ND), who is hitting .413 with five doubles, a triple, a homerun, and 12 RBI.

The Jimmies ace this season has been Adam Ranger (Naches, WA), who is 4-0 with a 2.53 ERA in 32 innings of work.  Ronnie Blagg (Jr., La Puenta, CA) anchors the Viking staff, with a 3-2 record and a brilliant 1.91 ERA in 42 innings.  He leads players among independent teams in pitching.

Games in Valley City will be at 1:00 p.m. at Charlie Brown Memorial Baseball Field Saturday.  Games in Jamestown will be at Jack Brown Stadium at 1:00 p.m. Sunday.
