CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner softball team dropped a pair of games in the West Fargo Tournament Saturday.

Watertown, SD topped the Hi-Liners 12-2 in the opening game.  Danica Diegel filled in at pitcher for Keely Fogarty, who was at the Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) speech meet).  She allowed 12 runs on 11 hits in the loss.  Valley City managed just three hits, with Allison Baasch, Jessica Denholm, and Amanda Tangen picking up singles.

The Hi-Liners then lost a slugfest with Minot Ryan 16-11.  Jessica Denholm took the loss without giving up a single earned run, allowing 16 unearned on 10 Hi-Liner errors.  She allowed just six hits.

Jenna Coghlan was 2-4 with three RBI.  Diegel, Dierra Diegel and Brooke Breckheimer each drove in two runs.

The Hi-Liners play at Fargo South Tuesday.
