Authorities Identify Boy Killed in A-T-V Accident in LaMoure County

EDGELEY (NewsDakota.com) Authorities identified an 8-year-old LaMoure county boy who died in an all-terrain-vehicle rollover in Lamoure County.

The Highway Patrol says Jacob Shockman of Berlin died from injuries he suffered Sunday when the ATV he was driving rolled and pinned him beneath the vehicle northeast of Edgeley.

A 5-year-old passenger was treated at a Jamestown hospital and released.

    This is happening far too often.
    Something needs to change!
    The atv is one of the most dangerous and lethal vehicles out there.
    They are very easily rolled on an inclined terrain and often land on the operator.
    This accident is tragic and my heart goes out to the family.
    I would be happy to hear of not one more ATV tragedy.
    Let us learn so some good can come from this.
