(NewsDakota.com)- The week started off on the wrong foot for the Blue Jay baseball team, but they rebounded nicely. After losing Monday to St. Mary’s at home, Jamestown rattled off three straight West Region wins and won six of seven.

They took the non-league game from St. Mary’s on Monday and preceded to roll.

The Jays split with Bismarck High, winning the WDA counter game. Heading into the weekend they had a rematch with the Saints and were able to win both games.

Riley Schafer went all eight innings in the game 1 win, 2-1. Landon Weiser’s double broke a 1-1 tie in extras. Jamestown got a little more offense in game 2, winning 10-4.

Minot came to town on Saturday and the first game finally ended in the 11th inning when Brady Anderson sent a screaming liner down the left field to score the game-winning run. Jamestown picked up its third West Region win in a row, 3-2.

The Blue Jays won the second game 9-8.

Jamestown is currently tied with Dickinson for third in the WDA. Another tough week looms for the Jays they travel to Mandan on Tuesday and host the Midgets on Thursday.
