Peterson, age 76, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Valley City, ND, died Sunday, May 6th at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 10th at Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud Schuldt Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday afternoon. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City.

Arnold Keith Peterson, the son of Earl and Harriet (Taylor) Peterson, was born August 27, 1935 in Jamestown, ND. Arnold grew up and attended school in various areas but graduated from Valley City High School in 1953 and later graduated from Valley City State University. During his college years and for a brief time after his graduation, Arnold worked for his father at Bison Freight Lines. In 1959, he began a lifelong career in social work working for Ransom County Social Service in Lisbon, ND. On October 16, 1960 he married Marlys Jorgenson at Nebo Lutheran Church in Valley City. In 1961, Arnold began working for Barnes County Social Service in Valley City until his retirement in 1995. Arnold was an active member of Nebo Lutheran Church in Valley City where he served on numerous church boards and later was active with Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City. Arnold was also a board member of the Open Door Center and the Barnes County Seniors in Valley City. Arnold enjoyed collecting toy cars and trucks, bowling, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Arnold was very proud of his family and was especially fond of the Love of his Life, Marlys. He looked forward to their outings they enjoyed together.

Arnold is survived by his wife Marlys, Fargo, ND; three children, Deborah Rubash, Shakopee, MN, Dawn (Kenneth) Dathe, Fargo, ND and Bradley (Donna) Peterson, Williston, ND; three grandchildren, Lucas, Kaitlin and Nicholas Rubash, all Shakopee, MN; two brothers, Earl K. (Donna) Peterson, Jr., Sun City, AZ and Donald Peterson, Longmont, CO; two sisters-in-law, Jean Jorgenson, Fargo, ND and Janice Jorgenson, Hastings, MN; several nieces and nephews.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, one son-in-law, Jay Rubash and two brother-in-laws, Milford and Maurice Jorgenson and two nieces.
