TOWN, N.D. (AP) – A former president of the National Congress of American Indians says his tribe doesn’t agree with proposed federal rules that require companies drilling for oil and gas on public and Indian lands to disclose the chemicals they’re using in hydraulic fracturing. Three Affiliated Tribes Chairman Tex Hall says he isn’t opposed to disclosing the chemicals, but thinks the potential regulations go too far and could threaten oil development on the reservation.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty are being remembered today during a special ceremony in Bismarck. Sixty-one officers are being honored during the North Dakota Peace Officer Memorial Service. They include Bismarck Police Sergeant Steve Kenner and Burleigh County Sheriff’s Deputy Bryan Sleeper, who both died last year.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – A lingerie and adult toy store that was banned from opening in Grand Forks is running into trouble in neighboring East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Grand Forks city officials stopped Fantasy’s from opening in a location that was a block away from an elementary school. Now Minnesota officials say the business never got approval to open in their community. They shut down operations.

NEW YORK (AP) – A North Dakota State football player who went on to help the New York Giants win two Super Bowls died yesterday. Stacy Robinson was 50. He’d been fighting cancer and had recently been admitted to hospice. Robinson retired in 1990, five years after he was drafted.
