CITY (NewsDakota.com) A Jamestown couple was honored today for rescuing a Jamestown man who drove his vehicle off Interstate 94 and into Hobart Lake west of Valley City on April 19.

Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin says if it wasn’t for the heroic efforts of Chelsey Fiebiger and Cole Huber the situation could have had a different outcome.

Huber and Fiebiger both said they acted on instinct after the vehicle went into the water.

The couple helped get the driver David Paul Floyd Brown out of the water and into a heated car. The vehicle was completely submerged when rescue crews arrived on the scene.

The couple was honored during a Barnes County board of commissioners meeting today in Valley City.
