    • maybe that’s saying something about our locals

The new chief selected is incredibly qualified, so much so that I wonder why he chose to accept a position in Valley City. No local person could ever build that kind of a resume. There is no way his salary in Valley will be anywhere near his salary in Henderson. So my only question is why he chose Valley not why he was selected.

Maybe he chose valley City because it is a quiet community. Maybe money is not the issue, maybe it is a slower paced life that attracted him and his family here. The busy life of a bigger city tends to wear on people and some would give up alot for a slower paced life.

Great forward thinking by another Valley City resident. Gotta love communities that don’t want anyone from the outside moving in.

Zoom – when you bring in someone from outside, that person doesn’t have an agenda or owe anyone in VC favors. Look what we had with the former police chief and all of the favors he gave to people, the $50,000 cash in his safe, and his way of intimidating everyone. Good luck to the new chief!

Fred Thompson is one of the most ethical and experienced professionals I have ever had the honor to work with, he will be an asset to your community.

Best of luck to Fred and his family.

I want to give my apologies to your community in advance. Your choice for Chief is one your City Council will soon regret. One question asked here was why would he would choose Valley? Simple, Fred wants to be Chief so badly that it doesn’t really matter where as long as he can finally say he’s Chief. Also it’s far enough away from Henderson that his reputation is not known. I wish your City all the best because you are going to need it.
