N.D. (AP) – Dickinson and Stark County officials are
teaming up, hoping to get a slice of $3 million in grants to build
housing for law enforcement officers. Together, the two
municipalities could qualify for financing for up to eight housing
units. Authorities say it’s difficult to recruit police officers
and sheriff’s deputies to southwestern North Dakota because of the
region’s housing shortage.

MANDAN, N.D. (AP) – Morton County zoning board members are upset
that the county’s prosecutor won’t enforce zoning violations. The
Morton County Commission plans to meet later to discuss the dispute
with State’s Attorney Allen Koppy, who wouldn’t comment on the
dispute.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Governor Jack Dalrymple and industry
leaders will meet in Bismarck next week to learn more about the
future of pipelines in North Dakota. Pipeline industry leaders are
slated to talk about their potential investments in building the
state’s pipeline infrastructure to help reduce impacts in North
Dakota’s oil patch.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Teddy Roosevelt’s Elkhorn Ranch in North
Dakota is being added to the list of the most endangered historic
places in the country. The National Trust for Historic Preservation
says the ranch faces imminent danger due to a road project that
would change the landscape.
