City (NewsDakota.com) Work on the installation of the Valley City Water Treatment plants force water main to the city lagoon southwest of town has been an inconvenience for motorists.

City Administrator David Schelkoph is asking residents to be patient as crews continue to do the work.

Meanwhile Mayor Bob Werkhoven says the contractor is being careful not to hit any gas lines as they work. Werkhoven was referring to a scary moment last Thursday on 4th Street near Central Avenue.

Schelkoph says details on how the city will pay for the project will be released at a future city commission meeting. The installation work could take two weeks or more weather permitting.
