(NewsDakota.com) The annual tradition continues this Friday through Sunday, as Oakes hosts Irrigation Days for the 41st year in a row.

The list of events is quite large over the next three days. It all starts on Friday at 4 p.m. with a hamburger feed at the American Legion, followed by popcorn and soda sale at the Grand Theatre. At 5:30, the parade heads down Main Avenue, and a street dance featuring the band 24/7 hist the stage at 9:30.

On Saturday, the community-wide rummage sale starts at 8 a.m. and runs through 1 p.m. The Sue McLean 5K Fun-Run/Walk starts at 8:30. Dickey County’s Heritage Museum has a open house from 10-3. Youth games are on Main Avenue from 11-3, a barbeque feed is on Main from 11-1, and Oakes native and former Buffalo Bills star Phil Hansen will be in town at 12:30 for a special presentation. Rodeo is at 6:30, and “The Roosters” take the stage downtown at 9:30.

On Sunday, the pancake breakfast starts at 8 a.m. followed by a demolition derby east of town at 1 p.m. with the Pie and Ice Cream social bringing the festivities to an end starting at 6:30.
