City, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City State University Professor Richard Ross defeated incumbent Sharon Buhr in the school board election on Tuesday in the Valley City school district.

Ross says the federal “No Child Left Behind” law doesn’t work and needs to be scrapped.

Ross says we also need to focus on raising the percentage of those who graduate from high school in the future.

Ross defeated Buhr by 411 votes. Ross received 1,398 while Buhr received 987 vote in the Tuesday election.
