City swept Edgeley in double header in Valley City on Tuesday evening by scores of 29-2  in the league game (5innings) and 12-3 in non league game (3 innings).

In game one, Valley City fell behind after the top of first 1-0, but that didn’t last long.  Valley City busted open for 20 runs in bottom of first and didn’t look back from there, cruising to a 29-2 win of the league game. 

Jordan Magnuson got the start on the mound and threw all five innings, giving up two runs (one earned) while walking four batters and giving up four hits.

Magnuson, Jacob Miller, and Jesse Johnson led the way at the plate, with each collecting four hits a piece, as the team collected a total of 19 hiits

“Jordan Magnuson did what I had asked him to do on the mound and just threw strikes, espically after getting that huge lead after the first inning,” said head coach Lance Lukes.

“Its nice to see our offense contiue to go like it has, and for the most part we haven’t been relying on walks, we have been aggressive and collecting hits,” Lukes added.

In game two, Valley City jumped out early again, with 10 runs in the bottom of the first and help on to a 12-3 win in three innings.

Alex Milender got his first start on the mound of his Babe Ruth career and came away with the win.  He threw all three innings, giving up three earned runs on three hits, while walking two and striking out four.

Valley City’s record now sits at 6-2 with league record of 3-2.  The next action is Thursday at Oakes, with a start time of 5:00 p.m.   They will then host their annual Pizza Corner Classic tournament this coming weekend.
