“Jim” Edgerton, 75, of Fergus Falls, MN, died June 15, 2012, at the Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN.

James Allan was born March 11, 1937 in Wyndmere, ND to Bruce and Bernice (Moen) Edgerton. He grew up in the Cayuga, ND area, where he attended school and worked on the family farm.

He met his future wife, Annette Skroch while driving school bus. They were married on August 22, 1959; and together they were blessed with four children, Scott, Sid, Lynn, and Kyle.

Over the years, Jim was employed for the Kiefer Brothers in Cayuga, ND, Farmer’s Union Oil Company in Lidgerwood, ND, Cenex Trading Station in Dagmar, MT, Cenex and Dakota Farm Equipment in Beach, ND, John Deere Farm Equipment in Klamath Falls, OR, RDO in Hazen, ND, and the Moorhead Area Public Schools as a para-professional working with at-risk students. After his retirement, the couple moved to rural Fergus Falls, MN.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing, reading, bowling, playing cards, and watching a wide variety of sports and western movies.

Jim is survived by his wife, Annette (Skroch) Edgerton; children, Scott (Deb) Edgerton, Wausau, WI, Sid Edgerton, Salmon, ID, Lynn (Edgerton) Massey, Puyallup, WA, and Kyle (Ruth) Edgerton, Carson, ND; and grandchildren, Emily and Eryn Edgerton; Adam, Ashley, Ethan and Matthew Edgerton; Jacob, Kristine and Eric Massey; and Corinne, Catherine and Clarice Edgerton. He is also survived by a brother, Richard (Gloria) Edgerton, Columbus, OH; two sisters, Karen (Noel) Pinkham, Wyndmere, ND, and Donna (Rev. Andy) Husmann, Muskegon, MI; an aunt, Margie Gagelin, Wahpeton, ND; and Penney, the spoiled family dog. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Marlys Fangsrud.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Geneseo, ND, with burial to follow at the Cayuga Community Cemetery, Cayuga, ND. The Rosary will be said prior to the start of the service.
