N.D. (NewsDakota.com) For the second time in less than 2 weeks the phone lines for Century Link and other carriers are down.

9-1-1 service in Stutsman County is currently restricted because of a long distance service outage.  Cell phone customers are still able to call 9-1-1.  Those calls are temporarily being answered by State Radio in Bismarck.  For land-line telephone customers, Century Link customers can call 252-1000, Dakota Central customers can call 952-8911 for emergency assistance.

Dialing 9-1-1 from a land-line telephone will not work at this time.  Calling 9-1-1 from a cell phone from any location in Stutsman County is currently the only way to use 9-1-1.

No word yet as to the cause of the service disruption. The Cowboy Hall of Fame live broadcasts were cut short due to the disruption in the service.
