CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City Commissioner Matt Pedersen was selected to become the Vice President of the City Commission or Deputy Mayor during the July 2 meeting. Pedersen has the Building & Grounds portfolio.

City commissioner’s Mary Lee Nielson and Madeline Luke presided at their first commission meeting on Monday. Nielson will have the Police & Fire Department portfolio while Luke was assigned the Public Works Electric & Water Department portfolio. Luke and Nielson were sworn into office on June 22 after they were elected to office on June 12.

Commissioner Duane Magnuson was reassigned to take the Public Works Streets, Sanitation & Sewer portfolio. And Mayor Bob Werkhoeven will continue to have the Finance portfolio.
