VALLEY CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–Valley City’s Babe Ruth baseball team used 15 hits to take a 20-2 win over Edgeley in a district contest Tuesday night in Edgeley.

Jesse Johnson was 4-5 and hit for the cycle, including an in-the-park homerun, and drove in six runs.  Alex Milender was 3-3 with a walk and had five RBI.

Dalton Ondracek earned the win on five innings of work, allowing an earned run on five hits.

“I was pleased to see that the guys didn’t have a carry over from last game, with all the walks that we collected Monday.  We were aggresive and didn’t sit back and wait for walks. Its always tough coming from a game like Monday.  There can be times where players get set in looking for the walks and stop being agressive at the plate,” said head coach Lance Lukes.

Valley City is now 8-4 in district play, 13-11 overall.  They play at Jamestown at 1:00 p.m. Friday.
