FARGO, N.D. (AP) – Potted tomato plants have been popping up around downtown Fargo for about a month, and no one knows where they came from. A laminated card that accompanies the so-called “plant bombs” encourages passers-by to help water and care for them – and eat them. The tomatoes are starting to ripen. Lauryn Whitmer organizes a local community gardening group and says she’s getting close to figuring out who is responsible. She says the plants highlight the concept of community gardening.
