CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–Post 60 was stifled at the plate in a matchup with the top team in Section 1 last night.

Valley City managed just three hits in each game, dropping both ends of a double-header at Wahpeton 10-0 and 7-0.  Wahpeton leads the Section 1 race, with Kindred in second, and Post 60 third.

Valley City was plagued with defensive issues again, committing six errors in the opening contest, leading to five unearned runs for Wahpeton.  Josh Gilbertson took the loss, allowing 10 runs, five earned, on 10 hits.

Spencer Meyer doubled, and Josh Magnuson and Jaden Keys each added a hit in the five-inning game.

Andrew Glaser was saddled with the loss in game two, allowing only one earned run, but seven total on eight hits in four innings of work.  A six-run fourth inning for Wahpeton was the difference in the game.

Meyer added another double, Keys another hit, and Anthony Olstad added a double in the nightcap.

Post 60 hosts Harwood Thursday night in the final regular season game of the year.
