ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) – Authorities say a 12-year-old boy was killed in an ATV crash near the northeastern South Dakota town of Claremont. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the boy was returning from a baseball game in Claremont on Sunday when he lost control of the ATV on a gravel road. Troopers say the vehicle rolled in a slough and pinned the boy underneath. Troopers say the boy’s parents searched for their son after he did not return in a timely manner and they discovered him dead in the slough. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Wes Graff says that the boy was likely trapped underneath the vehicle for more than an hour.
